Justin Bieber has abruptly ended his Purpose World Tour with 12 shows left to go.

In a statement released on Tuesday, a rep for Bieber gave no concrete reason for why Justin would not be completing his tour, which included concerts in the US, Canada, Japan Singapore and the Philippines.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, Justin Bieber will cancel the remainder of the Purpose World Tour concerts,” the statement said.

“Justin loves his fans and hates to disappoint them. He thanks his fans for the incredible experience of the Purpose World Tour over last 18 months. He is grateful and honored to have shared that experience with his cast and crew for over 150 successful shows across six continents during this run.

“However, after careful consideration, he has decided he will not be performing any further dates. Tickets will be refunded at point of purchase.”

TMZ reports that an insider said Justin is “just over it”, which would be understandable since it kicked off in March last year. But there’s little chance Bieber’s loyal fans, many of whom have been waiting months or even a year or more to see him live, would be satisfied with that.

It comes after Justin was banned from bringing his tour to China.

After Selena Gomez called off her world tour last year due to physical and mental exhaustion, maybe it’s time the industry stopped asking artists to tour for so long.
