Kim Kardashian discussed her Paris robbery ordeal when she appeared on The Ellen Show on Thursday, revealing to DeGeneres she believes the incident was “meant to happen” to her.
“I know this sounds crazy, but I know that was meant to happen to me,” she said.
“I’m such a different person [now],” she said, fighting back tears. “It was meant to happen to me. I really feel like things happen in your life to teach you things.”
The mother-of-two, who was robbed at gunpoint in her hotel room in October last year, explained that she sees the robbery as a lesson about being superficial.
“It was probably no secret, and you see it on the show — I was being flashy and I was definitely materialistic before.”
She added that she feels she’ll be a better role model for her children, having been through the experience.
“I’m so happy that my kids get this me and that this is who I’m raising my kids [as]. ‘Cause I just don’t care about that stuff anymore. I really don’t.”

Describing the moment the men gained entry to her room and held her at gunpoint, Kardashian reveals how she said a prayer and believed she would be killed.“Automatically, your stomach drops. It’s a feeling you can’t even explain. Like, I knew that was it for me. I said a prayer, like, ‘I know I’m going to heaven. I hope my kids are OK, and my husband,”” she said, which elicited more tears from Kardashian.
Kim also revealed new information she’s learned about the robbery from the court case that is ongoing in France, telling Ellen that she found out the robbers were following her for around two years before they attacked.
“But what was crazy is meeting with my attorneys and knowing the information that I know now, they had been following me for two years. They had been hearing interviews that I did, getting excited about this jewellery or this jewellery, and saying that it’s real.”

Kim also used the appearance on Ellen to hit back at Caitlyn Jenner, who Kim says lied about Kris Jenner in her new memoir, The Secrets Of My Life.
“[Jenner] is promoting this book and she’s saying all these things and, you know, I just don’t think it’s necessary. I just feel like it’s unfair; things aren’t truthful.
“I just wish her all the success in the world, but not at our expense.”
