Selena Gomez has broken her social media silence by updating her Instagram account for the first time in more than three months – to thank her fans.

As America celebrates its annual Thanksgiving holiday, Selena wrote a heartfelt message directed to her loyal fan base after she abruptly cancelled her Revival World Tour in August and began treatment for mental health issues, including depression and anxiety.

“I have a lot to be thankful for this year. My year has been the hardest yet most rewarding one yet,” she wrote underneath a black and white photo of herself with fans in the background.

“I’ve finally fought the fight of not ‘being enough’. I have only wanted to reflect the love you guys have given me for years and show how important it is to take care of YOU. By grace through faith. Kindness always wins. I love you guys. God bless.”

This week Selena made her first public appearance since she pulled back from public life in August, giving an emotional acceptance speech at the American Music Awards. It seems after a challenging year, the 24-year-old is on the road to recovery.
