Is Nicolas Ghesquière a gamer? According to Louis Vuitton’s latest collaboration, the French designer might very well be. Today, Louis Vuitton launches a super-charged albeit surprising capsule collection with League of Legends – the hugely popular online battle arena video game, of which Ghesquière has designed.

First announced in September, the limited edition collection takes the form of both men’s and women’s wear and will include leather goods, ready-to-wear, shoes and accessories. Paying homage to both the LV and LoL iconography, Ghesquière fused the two emblems together in one catchy mash-up. With a distinctly athletic bent, pieces include bike shorts, tights, crops and matching tracksuits.

Accompanying the apparel, which pays homage to the game characters via black, white and blue patterning, revered styles of bags including the classic bowling bag have also received the same LoL treatment. The Archlight sneaker, which debuted in 2018, sees a gaming spin while heeled boots and chunky oxford shoes add a sense of high-fashion polish to the sport-driven looks.

Known for its artistic collaborations with the likes of Supreme and Jeff Koons, this is the first move into gaming territory for the Maison. According to Riot Games, it’s the “first-ever collaboration between a global eSport and a luxury fashion house,” and one that will no doubt excite both the gamers and fashionistas alike.

The Louis Vuitton x League of Legends capsule collection is available for pre-orders on Louisvuitton.com.au from today.
