Can you believe it’s been exactly one year since Australia spoke sense by voting YES in the same-sex marriage referendum?

November 15, 2018 marks the first anniversary of the historic vote, and to celebrate the occasion in the best way it knows how Absolut has released a new bottle with a rebel edge.

As a sponsor for the 40th anniversary Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras in early 2018, Absolut was a vocal supporter of the YES campaign in the lead-up to the vote. (Who could forget that rainbow bottle and the bold poster campaign brightening up bus stops around our capital cities last year?)

Now the brand has upped the ante by literally reversing racist and anti-LGBTQ protesters’ messages. (In the brand’s own words, it’s a figurative FU to hate campaigners.) Its new limited edition Absolut Drop bottle, part of the brand’s campaign to Create a Better Tomorrow, features ink extracted the from hate signs gathered from rallies. This ink has been reused to create the artwork featured on this new bottle, literally turning hate into love.

The blue bottle – made of 70 percent recycled glass – comes in two party-perfect detail colourways (emerald green and hot pink) and costs $50 for 700ml at larger liquor retailers.
