After a particularly memorable appearance at the Grammys last week, Adele has arrived in Australia ahead of her tour, which will begin this month.

The Album Of The Year winner – who became emotional in her acceptance speech as she admitted she thought Beyonce was more deserving of the award for Lemonade – touched down in Sydney late on Saturday night, disembarking from a private jet holding son Angelo in photos published by the Daily Telegraph.

The 28-year-old has 10 days before her tour kicks off in Perth on February 28, so it’s not known whether she attends to do some sightseeing or just enjoy some downtime before her Perth, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide shows.

Adele was one of the most focused on musicians at last week’s Grammys, and not just because she scooped Album Of The Year and Record Of The Year for 25. She was applauded for her decision to restart her George Michael tribute performance of Fast Love because she wasn’t feeling her vocals – even though it was live.

“I can’t do it again like last year,” she said, referring to her rendition of Hello at last year’s ceremony which was plagued by technical difficulties. “I’m sorry for swearing and sorry for starting again, can we please start it again? I’m sorry, I can’t mess this up for him. I’m sorry.”

Adele announced her 2017 Australian tour last year with an Instagram note that read “G,day, it’s me … I was wondering if after 10 years in the game you’d like to meet me in: Brisbane, Sydney, Perth, Melbourne and Adelaide?”
