Albus Lumen’s ethereal Woolmark AW19 Resort collection is now available exclusively on MATCHESFASHION.COM. The collection, entitled ‘Pure Interna’, which means pure discovery in Latin, was created for the 2018/2019 International Woolmark Prize, for which the brand was a finalist.
True to the Australian brand’s minimalist tropes, the all-white exclusive capsule features 10 pieces made from responsibly sourced Australian Merino wool, blended with linen and silk to create small-scale textural effects. The collection includes a coat, trousers, shirts, dresses and travel accessories, such as a neck pillow and sleeping mask which has been specially created using lightweight wool and layered with silk chiffon.
Since its conception in 2015, founder Marina Afonina has invited us into her singular, sensitive, dreamlike world, conceiving classic silhouettes in luxurious fabrications with the Albus Lumen x Woolmark AW19 Resort collection an extension of this.
Of the collection, Afonina says: “I wanted to use Australian Merino wool in a way that was both complimentary to Albus Lumen’s easy, summer-kissed spirit and concurrently challenges the traditional misconceptions of the fibre. The collection, ‘Pure Interna’ which, translated from Latin means pure discovery, consists of Modernist silhouettes and arte paver detailing in an all-white colour palette that creates the perfect opportunity to focus on the textural possibilities of Australian Merino wool”.
