Good news, everyone. We can all relax, because Alex Rodriguez has backed down from his claim that Kylie Jenner bragged about money and status at the Met Gala.

In case you missed it, A-Rod made the comments about Jenner in an interview with Sports Illustrated. Explaining that he and the billionaire makeup-mogul sat at the same table at the Met Gala, Rodriguez told the publication:

“Kylie was talking about Instagram and her lipstick, and how rich she is.”

The quote by Jennifer Lopez’s husband-to-be started blowing up the internet, so it wasn’t long before it got around to Kylie. Within hours she response on Twitter:

“Umm no I didn’t. We only spoke about Game of Thrones.”

Whether he was telling the truth, exaggerating, joking or blatantly making it up, it seems Rodriguez, 43, did not want to be involved in a public feud with Jenner, 21. Rightly so.

On Thursday he replied to the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star on Twitter in what could be described as an overly apologetic and, frankly, ass-kissy tone:

“OMG that’s right @KylieJenner!! It was me talking about you and your makeup line and how much my girls love you. #GOT #respect #alllove.”

Nice save, Alex. Because as Jordyn Woods knows all too well, being on the receiving end of the wrath of the Kardashian-Jenners is rarely worth it. And as Taylor Swift knows, a feud with the famous family could dominate your life for a good two years.

Who needs that when you’ve got a wedding with Jennifer Lopez to plan?
