This season’s Alice McCall Resort 2019 runway show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia saw the brand’s signature sheer designs and playful frills reimagined in a fresh new disco-ready incarnation.

In front of an audience that included the likes of Mimi Elashir and Ellie Gonsalves, the electric atmosphere and coloured lights set the tone for the line’s highly-anticipated reveal, with all eyes on the runway in wait of the brand’s newest offering.

Must-have cocktail dresses in floral prints and pleating were showcased, alongside lustrous floor-length gowns in varying colours and opacity. Each style was a different take on these eye-catching elements that were at the crux of the capsule collections theme. The label provided looks for every occasion, so picking your next outfit for an upcoming event just got easier.

There was a buzz around the grand-scale show generally but what really got the fashion crowd talking were the whimsical frills on the sheerer wares, which added a cheeky energy to the collection that was in-line with the label’s ethos.

Soft pink, lavender and mint hues were used by the designer to compliment McCall’s delicate styles. Pieces in black, gold and white contrasted theses colourful shades, making for a striking aesthetic as they came down the runway.

Alice McCall purposefully designed each look for her eponymous brand to ensure it embodies the flirty and playful girl-next-door we associate with the face of it. This attention to detail is part of why the label has become one of the most highly-anticipated shows at MBFWA each year.
