Amy Schumer will not be returning to the land of the Bourke Street Bakery pies that she loves, following confirmation today that the comedian has cancelled her sold-out Australian stand-up tour on the eve of her debut Perth appearance slated for this coming Saturday.

Touring company Live Nation issued a statement today announcing their regret that Schumer’s Australian and New Zealand December tour dates will not go ahead due to illness. Due to Schumer’s “tight schedule”, the company also announced that it would not be possible to schedule replacement dates, though a return to Australia is purportedly being arranged as soon as practical.

News surfaced this past weekend that Schumer has signed on to portray Barbie in a live-action comedy that heralds a significant departure in material for both the comedian and Mattel’s problematic plastic icon.

All tickets will be refunded in full and both parties have apologised for any disappointment caused. You can find out more information regarding refund processes for various means of purchase here
