Face mists are often considered an added extra in ones makeup routine; a superfluous step for the beauty-adept only. Personally, I have found this statement to be half true. I’ve tried products that promise the world only to do nothing, but I’ve also tried ones that make my makeup visibly brighter, fresher, and longer-lasting. I have a rolodex of firm favourites (Tatcha, MAC Cosmetics, and Omorovicza are up there), but none have wowed me quite like the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dewy Set Mist.

The packaging isn’t indicative of the product inside – there’s no shimmer or large glitter particles. Instead, it’s a fine, hydrating spray that visibly plumps, sets, and imparts an ethereal glow to the skin. I find on top of foundation, my face looks super dewy – filtered even. And amazingly, the results are literally instant, making me very much a fan. I swear by it first thing in the morning to set makeup, but also to refresh tired or dehydrated skin during the day, and on a bare complexion come the weekend. If you’ve gone too heavy with the bronzer or blush, it makes a wonderful blending medium alongside a damp sponge as well.

Formulated without parabens, gluten, alcohol and mineral oils, it’s a relatively gentle formula that won’t irritate or congest. Refrigerated, it’s also incredibly refreshing (who needs coffee?). Basically, it’s fresh, youthful, juicy skin, but bottled.
