Hailey Bieber has finally revealed her dress to the world, a stunning off-the-shoulder lace gown by Virgil Abloh and his Off-White team.
After teasing us with soppy, up-close snippets of the pair, Mrs. Justin Bieber today revealed the first full-length shots of her wedding dress (in another series of loved-up images). The entire long-sleeved, off-the-shoulder gown featured ivory lace, and hugged Bieber’s tiny body in a bodice before fanning out with a full mermaid tail at the bottom.
The wedding dress was in stark contrast to Off-White’s usual design aesthetic – graphic, urban, almost futuristic in tone – with the gown both delicate and feminine. But there was one defining detail which echoed Off-White’s famous irony, the veil. At the very bottom of Bieber’s magnificent lace-trimmed veil, one of the brand’s famous screen-printed slogans: “TILL DEATH DO US PART”. Just like the couple’s strong PDA, the classic vow was as explicit as they come, printed at the veil’s edge in bold block letters.
Last month, the Off-White founder and Louis Vuitton’s Menswear Creative Director announced he was taking some time off on doctor’s orders. But it seems he still had time to create Hailey Bieber’s dream wedding dress, with Bieber writing on Instagram: “@virgilabloh thank you for making my vision come to life and creating my dream dress. You and your @off____white team are incredible and I’m forever grateful I got to wear your beautiful creation.” A beautiful creation indeed, let’s hope the veil is right.
