The Queen called in sick to work today; she was unable to attend the Service of commemoration and Dedication at St. Paul’s Cathedral. And while she didn’t require a doctor, she did need a stand-in and who better than Hollywood Royalty Angelina Jolie.

Jolie wore Meghan Markle’s favourite designer Ralph & Russo as she celebrated the 200th anniversary of the event which honours men and women who render extraordinary non-military service in a foreign country.

“The Queen is feeling under the weather today and has decided not to attend this morning’s service at St Paul’s Cathedral,’’ Buckingham Palace said in a brief statement. Her majesty’s absence meant all eyes were on Jolie.

The 43-year-old actress has been in the headlines of late as details have emerged of court and custody proceedings with ex-husband Brad Pitt. Jolie vehemently denied reports citing she would lose custody of her children should she not abide by a court order which allowed Pitt better access to their brood of six. Jolie’s spokesperson labelled the news as “inaccurate and unfair” and “a misleading leak”.

“From the start, Angelina has been focused only on their health and needs, which is why it was so important that this last court hearing be conducted privately,” her spokesperson said via a statement. “It’s deplorable that someone, for their own selfish reasons, leaked selective portions of the confidential and sealed court record to create an inaccurate and unfair picture of what is really happening.”
