Type Anja Rubik’s name into Google and two predictions pop up: ‘hair’ and ‘style,’ which makes sense because the Polish supermodel possess some of the best of both things in the business. Not only did she predict the whole ‘hair flip’ thing before anyone else, but Rubik’s back-to-black years of creamy blonde means she’s working with enviable amounts of effortless texture that never looks like she’s tried too hard. Yes, the girl knows how to work a hairdo on the runway, the street and the red carpet.
So it makes sense that Kérastase picked her to front the campaign for their new L’Incroyable Blow Dry lotion. The genius, heat protective lotion sets a style and fights frizz without any stickiness, and then reactivates under heat again meaning you can switch up your style without having to re-wash and start from scratch. We spoke to Rubik about her beauty routine, how she keeps fit and her secrets to nailing her style.

On a big, special occasion, how do you style your hair
It really depends on the outfit or look for the occasion and also my mood. Sometimes I put it up in a topknot and have it sleek with a bold red lip. Other times, I like it to be more playful and down with more texture and movement. I loved the “La Rebelle” (look from the L’Incroyable campaign) because it’s a cool rock’n’roll vibe which really embodies my personal style. I also loved the fringe bangs.

What is your beauty routine?
I smooth my skin with La Prairie’s Skin Cellular Treatment Gold Illusion Line Filler before I put anything on. Before bed, I like Skin Caviar. I absolutely love SkinCeuticals! C E Ferulic and Hydrating B5 Gel keep my skin smooth and replenished and have anti-aging elements. Their Retexturing Activator is also a phenomenal product. I like to mix my moisturiser with a few drops of MAC Foundation. For as long as I can remember, YSL’s touch éclat has been one of my go-to products for brightening and concealing. For some colour on my cheeks, I like Nars blush. From La Roche-Posay, I love Respectissime Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover which is really gentle and the Lipikar Body Milk to stay moisturised. How do you look after yourself?
Going for a long run is really great to de-stress and clear my head. I work out 2 times a week with my trainer Mike Medreno at Will Space NYC combining weight lifting with kick boxing.
