Ariana Grande has come to the defence of ex-fiance Pete Davidson, who’s being targeted by online trolls and bullies, even after he blocked her on Instagram.

After Pete shared a public statement about being the subject of bullying for “nine months”, Grande followed up with her own message to fans to leave him alone.

“I know u already know this but I feel I need to remind my fans to please be gentler with others,” she wrote on her Instagram story.

“I really don’t endorse anything but forgiveness and positivity. I care deeply about Pete and his health. I will always have irrevocable love for him and if you’ve gotten any other impression from my recent work, you might have missed the point.”

In a private message to a fan, the Thank U, Next singer revealed she couldn’t see Pete’s statement, meaning the Saturday Night Live star has blocked her.

Ariana’s decision to publicly stand up for Pete, who she got engaged to in May before splitting in October, follows similar comments by her manager Scooter Braun.

Davidson implied cruel online messages and comments in the wake of the split are affecting his mental health – he’s been open about suffering from bi-polar disorder.
