Ariana Grande announced her split from Mac Miller in May. It already feels like a lifetime ago, because within weeks the singer was engaged to Pete Davidson.
Now, Miller has broken his silence on his ex’s engagement in an interview with Zane Lowe on Beats 1.
“You know, like, I was in love with somebody,” the rapper said overnight.
“We were together for two years. We worked through good times, bad times, stress, and everything else. And then it came to an end and we both moved on. And it’s that simple you know.
“I am happy for her moving forward with her life, just as I’m sure she is [for] me.”
Ariana, 25, and her SNL star fiancé Davidson, 24, didn’t waste any time after they began dating in May. Within weeks they had tattoos dedicated to each other, moved into a Manhattan apartment, and there’s even speculation they’ll marry next month.
Some fans are convinced they’ll marry on the 4th of August, because the US arrangement of the date, putting the month first, then the day, – 8418 – has the same numbers as the badge of Pete’s firefighter father, who died saving people in the 9/11 terrorist attack in New York. Pete gave Ariana his dad’s badge, and she, like her fiancé, has the numbers tattooed on her.
