According to Australia’s top chefs and restauranteurs, Melbourne’s Attica Restaurant is our nation’s finest dining experience. That’s certainly no mean feat in a country that prides itself on its ability to serve up food that’s as much as a feast for the tastebuds as it is for the eyes – a balance Attica has perfected, naturally.

The prestigious accolade comes courtesy of the Australian Financial Review’s Top Restaurants Awards. It’s the latest in a long line of awards bestowed on head chef Ben Shrewy, whose three-hatted restaurant has previously raked up an exhaustive list of honorific titles, including Restaurant of the Year and Best Restaurant in Australasia.

With frankly stunning dishes, including salted red kangaroo and bunya bunya (see above) and gingered pears with MAiDENii (a boutique Australian vermouth, see below), Shrewy can no doubt expect to taste sweet success again very soon.
