With a hand outstretched to the sky and legs poised beneath her, a long mane of hair skims the floor as Bianca Cheah folds her body into seemingly-impossible graceful positions. Her glowing skin and tanned limbs display that of someone who lives and breathes wellness. The backdrop? The cityscape of Los Angeles, California – a place Cheah now calls home.
After making the transition from Sydney, Australia to Brentwood – home to many celebrities – in 2016, the founder of website Sporteluxe has quickly settled into the new abode. Shared with her husband and a two-year-old French bulldog called Sporte, the apartment’s hardwood floors, large sunny windows, balcony with that view, and minimal palette delivers the perfect clean background for this yogi to spend her downtime.

And while admittedly there may be the occasional homesick pangs for Australia, Cheah’s new life is far from bleak. When she’s not breakfasting at Bondi Harvest in Santa Monica, tapping at her computer at Sporteluxe’s new Los Angeles HQ, or attending yoga classes with friends, Cheah can be found hitting the sand at Venice Beach.
And living in the “health capital of the world” seems to have done wonders for her hair and skin. Despite the change in locations – Cheah’s go-to beauty regime has stayed the same, with the editor and model sticking to her favourite Aveda products to keep hair and skin glowing and healthy. Rounding up her hair must-haves on InstaStories this week, the line-up included the likes of Aveda’s Chakra 1 Balancing Mist, Shampure Dry Shampoo, Air Control Hair Spray, and Witch Hazel Hair Spray. But it’s the brand’s Sun Care Protective Hair Veil that has really been her godsend over the past few months as she flits between Australia and America.

Praising the product (which provides protection from sun exposure for up to 16 hours), Bianca reveals it keeps “my colour and highlights looking fresh as a daisy”, the lightweight, water-resistant UV defense mist is part of Aveda’s Sun Care range that works to minimise damage and dryness throughout the summer months. And as Cheah found, the water resistant spray conditions and protects the hair while minimising hair colour fading. Its light tropical aroma of 100% certified organic essences (think neroli, ylang, ylang and wild-crafted cistus) is the perfect companion for endless days spent under the California sun.
Bianca’s skin secrets can also be pointed towards Aveda, with Cheah a fan of the brand’s Tulasara Radiant Awakening Ritual which she says involves “dry brushing my skin (which promotes skin renewal and exfoliation) with a very soft brush followed by massaging the [Aveda] Radiant [Oleation] Oil into my skin and leaving for four minutes… Long story short, the whole experience is beautiful from start to end.”

And when it comes to her incredible body, it’s all about not going overboard. “I just try to eat everything in moderation with a balance of dairy, lean meats, protein, fresh fruit and veggies and lots of water. I’m not a nutritionist, but I do what is best for my body.” Recently admitting she’s “never been healthier and happier,” we just know 2017 is going to see Cheah climb to a whole new level of success.
