Azealia Banks has made some serious allegations against Russell Crowe, saying the actor assaulted her and threw her out of his LA hotel on Saturday night.
The 212 artist made the claims in a since deleted Facebook post, which reads:
“To recap my night, I went to a [party] at Russell crowes [sic] suite, at which he called me a n****r, choked me, threw me out and spat at me.”
“Last night was one of the hardest nights of sleep I’ve had in a long time.
“The men in the room allowed it to happen. I feel terrible today.”
A few hours later, Banks added another comment. “I have receipts. Stay tuned.”
However, there are conflicting reports about what happened in the suite at the Beverly Hills Hotel. TMZ cites several witnesses who say the trouble began when Banks, who was there as a guest of rapper RZA who has worked with Crowe on film projects, laughed at Crowe’s music selection and called him another guest “boring, white men.” When a woman defended the Australian, the rapper allegedly said “You would love it if I broke my glass, stabbed you guys in the throat, and blood would squirt everywhere like some real Tarantino s***” and allegedly made racial slurs.
TMZ reports that Banks lifted her glass in the air, which was when Crowe grabbed her in a “bear hug” and carried her out, before calling security to remove her from the property.
On Tuesday morning a spokesperson for Banks told Us Weekly that the rapper has filed a police report following the incident.
“She is very, very disgusted by the reports. The reports out there don’t even remotely resemble what actually happened. She was attacked. What has been reported as to what had led up to the attack is all fictitious.”
Crowe has so far made no comment regarding the allegations, however he did retweet TMZ’s story about the incident. Police are investigating and have taken statements from at least four guests at the party.
