While sticky and sweaty post-gym hair can present a minefield of hair stresses for the average women, it served as the mane inspiration for Brad Ngata backstage at P.E Nation Resort 2017, and the result was hot to say the least.

Using Schwarzkopf Professional Ngata took inspiration from the haute activewear collection when directing the two hair looks for the show.  “It’s post-workout hair with a tomboy texture,” explains Ngata, who prepped hair first with  Glamour Queen Prep Spray and used irons to create “cool-girl bends” in all the girl’s hair and then a combination of Schwarzkopf Dust It and Miracle Mist, focussing the latter on the front section of the hair to emulate sweat.

Leaving half the models’ hair down, Ngata and his team pulled the rest of the girl’s hair up into bandana-wrapped ponytails to add a sculptural element to the finished look.

His tips for copying the cool-girl texture at home? “If you’re going overnight load your hair up with a product and sleep on it so it settles in and gets messy, or if you’re styling in the morning dry shampoo is the best for getting that lived-in texture.
