If the morning shows hadn’t already cemented Day 3 of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia as the most glamorous offering so far, than the beauty backstage at Steven Khali definitely did the trick. Taking elements of Khalil’s detailed and luxurious collection into account, hairstylist Dale Delaporte for Goldwell wanted his waves backstage to feel feminine. “I wanted the hair to be luxurious while still looking youthful, so we’re tonging in alternating directions to create a crease in the hair, rather than a perfect curl and it’s all about the sheen and shine.” Prepping with Goldwell Double Boost and Glamour Whip for height and hold without the matte grit, the hair was then pulled back on the left side and pinned around the back. “I’m going to go back in with Goldwell Diamond Glow while the girls are in the final line-up for a last hit of shine before they hit the runway and get under those lights.”

Light play was also on make-up artist Alphie Sadsad, who created the shimmer-lit lids. “Steven’s collections always remind me of Paris and couture, and when I think of Paris I picture the sparkling lights of the Eiffel Tower,” said Sadsad.

Mixing Bobbi Brown Sparkle Eyeshadows in Silver Lilac, Sunight and Silver Moon, Sadsad swept his City of Lights-inspired glitter concoction across every girls eyes letting their own skin tones come through and customise the colours once on the runway.
