Beyonce and Jay-Z have released a joint album, Everything Is Love.

The couple were first rumoured to be working on a record together back in 2016, when Beyonce released her post-cheating scandal album Lemonade.

Jay fuelled the rumours when he told the New York Times last year:

“We were using our art almost like a therapy session, and we started making music together.”

Everything Is Love features nine tracks including Apes**t, for which they also released the music video. In the six-minute video, the couple filmed inside The Lourve in Paris, standing alone in front of the Mona Lisa and other famous artworks.

There’ll be plenty analysis of Everything Is Love lyrics to come, but there are some immediately noticeable references to the couple’s relationship struggles throughout.

In Lovehappy, Beyonce says “Yeah, you f**ked up the first one, we had to get remarried.”

Jay-Z responds “Y’all know how I met her, we broke up and got back together / To get her back, I had to sweat her.”

Later in the track, Beyonce sings:

“The ups and downs are worth it/ Long way to go but we’re working/ We’re flawed but we’re still perfect for each other, yeah yeah/ Sometimes I thought we’d never see the light/ We went through hell with heaven on our side/ This beach ain’t always been no paradise”.

In Apes**t, Jay also references being nominated for eight Grammys last year, but winning none, rapping: “Tell the Grammy’s f**k that 0 for 8 shit”.

The album is available to stream on Tidal.

Everything Is Love comes as the couple continue their On The Run II tour across North America and Europe.
