It’s been a busy year for Queen Bey. Between delivering twins Rumi and Sir, giving Demi Moore a run for her money by staging an instantly iconic pregnant photo shoot (and an announcement sequel) and potentially buying the [NBA team] Houston Rockets, the last thing we were expecting was a new collection drop by Beyoncé co-founded athleisure line, Ivy Park.

Sure, it helps that the collection isn’t designed by the Queen herself, but it’s a timely reminder empires don’t build themselves (although having a Beyhive certainly doesn’t hurt).

The Autumn/Winter 2017 Ivy Park collection is more of what we loved about earlier iterations of the brand. Still the most fashion-forward athleisure label around, the core pieces are re-imagined and re-worked in a modern update that hones in on the aesthetic favoured by the cool kids whose catwalk is found on the sidewalk.

The devil, of course, is in the detail. The new collection features cut out stripes, lattice grid trims, raw seams and new soft vortex yarns rendered in deconstructed forms; asymmetrical straps and cutaways that give sporty silhouettes a graphic edge. But none of these would be truly fresh without an injection of up-to-the-minute colour. Fielded in standout striking reds that teeter on scarlet and deep teals, the collection is softened and rounded out by the complimentary blush, khaki and tonal silvers and greys.

Fret not however – the older hero styles have also been given a winter update. The embossed slides are back and shining brighter than ever (literally) in new seasonal colours and weather appropriate velvet; the puffer, bolder and warmer than ever before in velvet chilli red and a long-line iteration; and the brand’s signature fishnet layered onto a jacquard active knit.

If owning even one piece of Ivy Park will make us a little bit more like Bey, we’ll take it all. Keep an eye out for the drop in-store and online at Topshop, and at various locations online including The IconicNordstromCulture Kings and Glue, among others.

New #IVYPARK drops arriving now.
