While Nintendo were putting the final touches on a little yellow creature called Pikachu, Beyoncé was picking out her yellow (mustard, actually, to be precise) Roberto Cavalli dress. Like the gaming giant, she was building a visual in her mind to attract the masses and while the world scurries around searching for Pokemon today, the 34-year-old has been rewarded for her lemon-coloured vision – and her strategy for catching all the awards.

This morning, Beyoncé was nominated for four awards for her Lemonade visual album at the 2016 Emmys; Outstanding Variety Special; Outstanding Production Design for a Variety Special, Nonfiction, Event or Award Special; Outstanding Picture Editing for a Variety Special.

Vulture is even reporting Beyonce nominated herself for the Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special award with Khalil Joseph. However, she was one of many directors on the one hour visual and actually listed as a co-director so this nomination didn’t come through. She will though go head-to-head with comedian Amy Schumer, James Corden’s Late Late Show and NBC’s Adele: Live in New York.

If Beyoncé does take home just one of four of her Emmy’s, she will then have been nominated for three types of awards; An Emmy, a Grammy and an Oscar (for a few Dreamgirls songs). She hasn’t appeared on Broadway to be in the running for a Tony just yet. In fact, only 12 people have ever managed to complete the four-award goal; Whoopi Goldberg, Audrey Hepburn and Barbra Streisand. Still, a poignant reminder to us all to stop chasing Pikachu.
