The hit seven-episode U.S. television show Big Little Lies features some premium California-coast real estate. And in a new interview, the series producer and locations manager Gregory Alpert revealed no expense was spared.

Even though Reese Witherspoon’s character Madeline reveals in the first episode that she’s not as wealthy as the rest of the women, she and husband Ed are doing pretty well for themselves considering their house in real life is worth AUD $19.26 million.

“We scoured the entire coastline looking for this house and settled on staying in Southern California because I can count on one hand the houses up in the central coast that are actually on the beach,” Alpert told Vulture. “So this is your standard Malibu beach house, and besides that beautiful view, it also has a beautiful interior, that beautiful island in the kitchen, which [director Jean-Marc Vallée] used a lot.”

By comparison Renata and Gordon Klein’s place (played by Laura Dern and Jeffrey Nordling) is located in Malibu and is worth AUD $16.4 million while Celeste and Perry Wright (Nicole Kidman and Alexander Skarsgård’s characters) live in a home located on the Monterey Peninsula, one that is worth AUD$7.8 million. Then there’s Bonnie and Nathan Carlson (played by Zoë Kravitz and James Tupper) who film in a AUD $3.38 million home. Shailene Woodley’s character, Jane, comes in last with a home worth a modest AUD $671,000.
