In a sign that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will share their engagement news very soon, British bookmakers have suspended betting on when the announcement will take place, The Sun reports.

Bookmakers made the decision following the news Harry will be a guest announcer on the BBC’s Radio 4 Today program in the lead-up to Christmas, with royal watchers convinced he’ll use the hosting spot to announce his engagement to Markle.

As far as bookmakers are concerned, the timing of the engagement announcement is so obvious it’s no longer in their interests to take bets on if or when it will happen.

A spokesman for Kensington Palace said “Prince Harry is grateful to have Today’s considerable reach to shine a spotlight on a number of issues that are close to his heart.

“He is working closely with Today’s team to produce segments on a range of topics, including youth violence, conservation, and mental health.”

It stands to reason Harry would use his engagement announcement to draw attention to issues that matter to him. He and Prince William are known to use their fame to make positive change, just like their late mother Princess Diana.

Harry held hands with Meghan in public for the first time at this year’s Invictus Games, the competitive sporting event for ex-servicemen he founded, and Kate Middleton, pregnant with her third child, revealed her baby bump at a children’s charity event in London recently.

Fuelling speculation about a permanent move to Kensington Palace, Meghan was spotted Christmas shopping in London this week, amid reports she is organising to have her two dogs relocated from North America to the UK.

Any day now.
