She certainly wasn’t up for talking about fashion last week, but on Tuesday night Blake Lively at least looked like she was excited about her outfit.
Blake wore a colourful, floral Marchesa dress with a plunging neckline to the Time 100 Gala in New York, and it appears husband Ryan loved the gown, judging from the way he looked at her on the red carpet.
The dress almost shouldn’t work, there’s just so much going on: the sheer panels, the lace, the tassels! But it does, although that’s probably due to the fact that Blake is wearing it: she could wear her grandma’s curtains and make it look good.
In fact, she actually did once!

Last week Blake was not having it when a reporter asked about her “go-to power outfit” at Variety’s Power Of Women luncheon.
“Really? At this event, you’re asking me about my outfit?” she said, according to USA Today. “Seriously…would you ask a man that?”
It seemed out of character for the openly fashion-loving actress, but she may have had a point: Blake was at the event to talk about a heavy topic, which might explain why she didn’t feel it was appropriate to launch into a spiel about which label she was wearing: she gave a speech about the horrors of child pornography and her work with the Child Rescue Coalition to combat it. You’ve gotta pick your moment.
