A hedonistic nod to Miami’s notorious ’90s club culture, the mood was sexed-up, electrifying and all kinds of heady. You could almost taste the perversion.
Hair was dizzyingly high, supremely buoyant and all kinds of glamorous, redolent of a time of drugs, sex, partying and lots of hairspray. “Miami Nights is all about the fun and excess of the mid-to-late 90’s,” noted hair director Renya Xydis, Wella Professionals Creative Director ANZ.
“We wanted big, bouncy, 90’s hair – really beautiful and sexy but strong.”
A welcome change to the pared-back hair directive at most shows this week, Renya’s ‘do was all kinds of mind and hair-blowing. Make a glitzy swansong into the night, or day (for the fearlessly glam).
Get The Look:
1. Begin with freshly washed hair using Wella Professionals Oil Reflections Luminous Reveal Shampoo and Luminous Reboost Mask
2. Apply Wella Professionals EIMI Perfect Me to the mid-lengths and ends
3. Lightly mist hair with Wella Professionals EIMI Perfect Setting to break the surface tension and create hold for the blowdry
4. Apply Wella Professionals EIMI Ocean Spritz to the root area only, avoiding spraying the hairline, for grit and volume
5. Apply Wella Professionals EIMI Dry Me lightly from mid-lengths to ends to create texture and hold
6. Part hair deep on one side and blowdry the hair, over directing the roots for maximum volume
7. Finish blowdry with a large paddle brush to create extra volume and finish with the cold air setting to cool and lock it all in
8. Tong mid-lengths to ends with a large barrel curling iron and pin curls up against the head to set
9. When cool, take pins out and gently brush out curls
10. Lightly mist with new Wella Professionals EIMI Glam Mist to smooth & add shine
11. Finish with Wella Professionals EIMI Super Set hairspray to hold
