NEW YORK CITY: As I watched Bradley Cooper’s new, epic and heart-wrenching film A Star Is Born at a theatre in the Financial District, it appears the actor and director was not such a hit with his baby mama uptown.

A significantly less-tanned Cooper and Russian model Irina Shayk were spotted at upmarket Japanese restaurant, Masa, in the Time Warner Centre in NYC; pay US $595 (plus beverages and taxes) for an “ethereal” two-hour premier dining experience like no other. According the Page Six however, witnesses who saw the star couple said they barely spoke the whole night, both moody, a little steely and serving major attitude.

“They were not looking happy,” a source told the publication. “The couple sat down. He was in a hoodie and she was fresh-faced — no makeup — and they barely spoke to each other at the start of the meal. Halfway through, she started looking off to the side and he was moody.”

The couple have been together since 2015, not long after Shayk broke up with Portuguese soccer plater Christian Ronaldo. She and Cooper share an 18-month-old daughter, Lea De Seine, together.

Editor’s note: Ironically, Gaga’s Perfect Illusion is playing while I’m writing this. More to come.

A Star Is Born is in Australian cinemas October 18.
