Taylor Swift is known for writing songs about her past lovers, and now Calvin Harris has given her a taste of her own medicine – even if he won’t admit it.

The two seemed to have buried the hatchet following their split – she sang along to his song at New York Fashion Week and he ‘liked’ the video on Instagram – which might be why he’s reluctant to admit his new release My Way is about her.

The track is upbeat, elated, celebratory, and the minimal lyrics speak of moving on from someone who wasn’t good for you.

Why wait

To say

At least I did it my way

 Lie awake

Two faced

But in my heart, I understand

I made

My move

And it was all about you

Now I feel so far removed

You were the one thing in my way

My way

When asked what the song was about upon the single’s release, Calvin more or less admitted it was about Taylor, but was careful with his words.

“[The] song’s about breaking out of a situation that you thought was a good thing. Then, you’re way more comfortable out of it,” Harris told iHeartRadio.

“And it could be anything,” he added. “It could be a job, or it could be a relationship. I had the idea for the concept for a few years, but I didn’t know how to work out how it sounded [until recently].”

After reports that Taylor is back in the studio working on new music, it shouldn’t be long until we hear her side of the story.
