The results are in: 17,410,742 Brits have today voted in favour of a Brexit – that is, in favour of the United Kingdom’s divisive exit from the European Union after 43 years.

In the days to come, what exactly this means will become clearer not only for the UK and EU, but for global markets who are already feeling the impact, the pound having dropped to its lowest point since 1985.

Parts of the UK are still reeling from the results, and Prime Minister David Cameron has just addressed the British people and press on the matter, saying that he will resign before the Conservative conference in October and that “the country has taken party in a giant democratic exercise.

“All the people have had their say. We should be proud of the fact that we trust the people. There are times when it is right to ask the people.”
In the interim, thank god we have celebrities to tell us how we should feel. While many are still asleep or waking up to the news, here are some initial reactions from those who followed the polls throughout the night.

Thanks, celebrities. What would we do without you?
