While Maryam Nassir Zadeh, Chloé, Khaite and Dolce & Gabbana all heralded the resurgence of the pedal-pusher in their Spring 2018 collections, Chanel’s Spring 2019 offering lengthened the trend – upwards – by way of a jumpsuit. And, while Audrey Hepburn and Jackie Kennedy pushed the case for the Capri-length style in the 50s and 60s – as did Britney Spears and Jennifer Lopez in the 90s – it was music legend Céline Dion’s casual stroll around Paris yesterday which cemented the calf-length trend. Well, at least in its one-piece version.

The 51-year-old pop icon wore a AUD $6300 skin-tight, spandex Chanel unitard with double-C detailing on its straps as she was snapped outside the Hôtel de Crillon. Her stylist Law Roach teamed it with a AUD $2400 Chanel chain belt and a pair of black Gianvito Rossi heels.

It’s not the first time the unitard has been on display. Lily Rose Depp wore it back in November 2018 to attend the launch of Chanel’s red edition of its signature No. 5 L’Eau perfume in London. Kim Kardashian is another fan of the pant at half mast trend. Dion though, well, she’s pushed it real good.
