The Golden Globes may be heating up, but you know what’s hotter? Microphones that are still live, that’s what. This is Us actress and ‘Best Television Series, Musical or Comedy’ presenter Chrissy Metz has allegedly been caught out calling Glow actress and ‘Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series, Musical or Comedy’ nominee Alison Brie “such a bitch” during a pre-show Facebook Live broadcast, her mic’s audio still live as the hosts threw to an interview with Brie elsewhere on the carpet. A word of advice: you’ll need headphones for this one, allegedly.

Per People, Metz has denied the allegations on Twitter, taking to the site mid-show and writing, “It’s terribly unfortunate anyone would think much less run a story that was completely fabricated! I adore Alison and would never say a bad word about her, or anyone! I sure hope she knows my heart.”

Little matter, though. At the time of reporting, “I hope she knows my heart” has become the new “I would very much like to be excluded from this narrative”. The New York Times reporter Kyle Buchanan tweeted that, “Watching news of the Chrissy Metz/Alison Brie feud make its way through the Globes ballroom is really quite something.”

For what little it’s worth, Vanity Fair’s Nicole Sperling asked Brie for a response to the alleged characterisation. Brie responded, “But why? I know her. I saw her on the carpet and I told her how beautiful she looked.” Brie lost out in her category to Rachel Brosnahan for her consummate performance as an eviscerating divorcée turned comic in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. The real winner tonight, however, is literally any comedy of errors.
