The follow-up to Demi Lovato’s documentary Simply Complicated has been put on hold after the singer’s drug overdose.

The film was set to be released in the coming months, but YouTube’s global head of originals Susanne Daniels told IndieWire: “It’s in production [but] it’s on hold right now. That’s up to Demi what she wants to say and what she wants to do.

“We want her to get well.”

Earlier this week, the 25-year-old was hospitalised after being found unresponsive at her Hollywood Hills home following a drug overdose.

In her 2017 documentary Simply Complicated, the Sober singer was open about her struggle with addiction.

“I wasn’t working my program,” she said. “I wasn’t ready to get sober. I was sneaking it on planes, sneaking it in bathrooms, sneaking it throughout the night. Nobody knew.”

A spokesperson for Demi said she is in a stable condition following the overdose. Ex-boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama was pictured visiting the star in hospital this week.
