We never really got to the bottom of it, did we? Were Drake and Jennifer Lopez ever really romantically involved? Or was it a shameful publicity stunt for a new song? Lots of you had many theories and Ellen DeGeneres took a stab at finding out when J.Lo appeared on her show this week. “We were just hanging out,” Lopez responded when shown this photo of her and Drizzy draped over one another.

DeGeneres, joking that she always hangs out with friends like this, then asked if they both wrote a song together. “Yes, we did,” Lopez replied. “Actually he sent me a song that he wanted me to be on. And I got on the song. Yeah, we have a song together. I don’t know what he’s going to do with it, but yeah.” Her body language – and the fact the pair were “hanging out” for the entire of December 2016 and January 2017 – tells a different story though here, watch the interview here.

Lopez goes on to talk about the perception that she only dates younger men. “I don’t date younger men. It’s not like you have to be younger. It’s not about that,” she says. “I just meet people and if I go out with them, I got out with them. And if I like them and I like them. If I don’t, I don’t. It’s about the person. It’s about who they are. It has nothing to do with age.”

Meanwhile in a country across the globe, Dublin in fact, a real-life Canadian Romeo (formerly known as Drake) gushed about Rihanna on stage as he wished her happy birthday. “It’s somebody’s birthday today – something I have a lot of love for and a lot of respect for,” he told the audience. “So, instead of singing ‘Happy Birthday’ though, we just going to do this: we’re going to set it off just like this…” Drake said as he and Rihanna’s track Work began playing.

Rihanna has not responded.
