Stateside, the race for who will take on Trump as the Democratic nominee in the 2020 presidential election is heating up with the remaining contenders taking to the stage on Tuesday night for a debate in which two of the top picks, Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders, went head to head.

Undoubtedly the most exciting (read: only exciting) part of the evening was when Warren brought up the recent report that Sanders had recently told her he didn’t think a woman could be President of the United States in 2020.

Though Sanders labelled the claims “ridiculous” and went on to give numerous examples of times he’s publicly backed women, including referencing YouTube footage of him 30 years ago talking about how a woman could run the country and the fact that Hillary Clinton won the popular vote by a whopping 3 million people, Warren was adamant they’d had the conversation.

She then went on to drop the best, Obama mic drop-worthy statement of the night.

“Bernie is my friend and I am not here to try to fight with Bernie, but look, this question about whether or not a woman can be president has been raised and it’s time to attack it head-on. And I think the best way to talk about who can win is by looking at everyone’s winning record,” she began.

“So, can a woman beat Donald Trump?”

“Look at the men on this stage: collectively they have lost 10 elections,” she said.

“The only people on this stage who have won every single election that they’ve been in are the women, Amy [Klobuchar] and me. And the only person on this stage who has beaten an incumbent Republican anytime in the past 30 years is me.”

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how you prove a point.
