Australian supermodel Elle MacPherson, also widely known as The Body, has appeared on British talk-show This Morning where she has (rather aptly) shared her tips for prepping a summer body. Our European friends are of course heading into warmer months and with that comes an interest in toning up a little for that new Solid And Striped bikini.

But it was said advice that has coursed some controversy. “Summer’s coming up, and I too am getting ready for my summer body,” Macpherson said. “I know that sounds really corny, but we all think about that.”

When it comes to losing weight and shedding a couple of kilos prior to hitting the beach, the 54-year-old model said likes to drink protein-infused shakes. She also said if she’s had a big breakfast or lunch, she’ll skip dinner and just have one of these shakes. “Sometimes I’ll use it as a meal replacement in the evenings,” she said. “If I’ve had a really strong breakfast or a strong lunch I can get away with having a protein shake for dinner.”

It was as though she instantly caught herself on her own poor advice. She clarified and said such a method should only be used short-term. “For a short period of time obviously, it’s not for an extended period,” she continued. “But if it’s leading up to summer and you want to drop a few pounds that’s the way I do it and I find it really, really helpful.”
