Emilia Clarke is set to swap one fantasy realm for another with the news the Game Of Thrones star been cast in the Star Wars spin-off about Han Solo.

Clarke will play the female lead in the as yet untitled project, with no other information about her character provided in the announcement on starwars.com.

“Clarke’s role will round out a dynamic cast of characters that Han and Chewie will encounter on their adventures,” the statement said.

The British actress, whose film resume is quite short given her commitment as lead character Daenerys Targaryen in Game Of Thrones since 2011, joins Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo and Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian.

The Emmy award-winner has earned the praise of critics both in Game Of Thrones and her big screen projects, which have included Me Before You and Terminator Genisys.

With shooting for the final season of Game Of Thrones predicted to wrap by the end of 2017, there’s no doubt Clarke is hot property in Hollywood right now.
