Perhaps the only more disheartening than the thought of six more weeks of winter is the state of our social media feeds. Whether it’s a high school friend sunning up in Hvar, some colleagues in Cannes, a bunch of bf’s mates in Mykonos or that old work pal getting Aperol Spritz-faced in Positano – doesn’t it feel like everyone is in Europe right now?

While a mid-year break may not be in the cards (or fit on your credit card) this year, you can still inject some European summer into your life via a well-curated beauty bag. “The easiest way to look like you have had a vacation is with a little shimmer on the eyes, on the lips and on the décolletage,” says make-up artist, French beauty guru and founder of By Terry cosmetics Terry Gunzburg. Think: glossy textures, juicy shades and sheer, buildable make-up that hits skin with a ‘just charge it to my room, grazie, per favore,’ tint. “Play with a bronzer that has a bit of rose, because you can look tanned but dull without peachy, rosy colours, which will give you a natural glow,” says Gunzburg.

Opt for coconut-spiked body products too and switch out that oud perfume for a fresh, watery scent or a citrus hit that will leave you and your skin smelling like it’s spent the day under a striped umbrella, and the night dancing in the sand.
