Ryan Gosling has been known for the dazzling, blinding, almost primal effect he has on women (and some men) since he made us weep as Noah in The Notebook.

Just ask Eve Mendes, who’s been with Gosling since they starred opposite each other in The Place Beyond The Pines in 2011 and shares two daughters with him.

In a new interview, Mendes revealed she’d decided she didn’t want children, but that changed when she fell under the spell of the aforementioned Gosling effect.

“Ryan Gosling happened,” Mendes said. “I mean, falling in love with him. Then it made sense for me to have … not kids, but his kids. It was very specific to him.”

Some men just make you wanna procreate.

Mendes, 45, starred in more than 30 films before going on somewhat of a hiatus after the birth of her daughters Esmerelda and Amada, who are four and two.

In his 2017 Golden Globes acceptance speech for La La Land, Ryan acknowledged the sacrifice his wife made so he could pursue and achieve his recent career highs.

What touched Mendes most of all, she said, was that he mentioned her late brother Juan Carlos Mendez, who died in April 2016 after suffering from throat cancer.

“It was like a dream,” Mendes said of the speech, which she watched from home.

“But really, what I heard was that he said my brother’s name. It was the most beautiful gesture, and I had no idea Ryan was going to say it. Losing my brother was incredibly difficult.”

What a man.
