Just as I was seriously considering consulting a psychic to find out when Big Little Lies season 2 is coming, HBO has saved me the trouble by announcing the news.

Finally.

Big Little Lies season two will air in June, the network revealed today, and also shared some photos of the cast in-character, including new addition Meryl Streep.

Streep plays Mary Louise Wright, the mother of Perry (Alexander Skarsgard) who is in Monterey to check-up on her grandchildren and Celeste (Nicole Kidman) after – spoiler alert! – he died at the end of season one.

The only other tid bits we know about the drama, based on the novel of the same name by Liane Moriarty, is that Jane (Shailene Woodley) will be “processing Perry’s sudden death” and “trying to build a new life for herself and Ziggy”.

Meanwhile Renata (Laura Dern) is “now faced with new challenges in her marriage”.

Bonnie (Zoe Kravitz) is struggling with Perry’s death and “forced to face demons in her past”, and Reese Witherspoon’s Madeline Martha Mackenzie confronts the truth of Perry’s death and must come to terms with her own marriage and traditional notions of marriage.

Mark. Your. Calendars. It’s almost time for the mothers of Monterey to return.
