If florals for spring are a classic fashion cliché – and given fictional demigod Miranda Priestly said so, we deem it to be true – then surely fruit for summer falls into the same tack-fest territory? Au contraire.

This season, nature’s sweet treats are so seriously cool that Dolce & Gabbana immortalised them in a cocktail print fabric. Joseph Altuzarra played with lemon and cherry motifs on his tailored jackets and ruffled dresses, while accessories queen Charlotte Olympia sent models down her runway clutching wicker watermelon bags and cartoon banana purses. (She also dressed others in giant fruity costumes of which we shall not speak more).

But if fashion is one big carnival, then surely this hand-painted Dolce & Gabbana bag delivers on the dress code, especially given it blends the two biggest colours right now – pink and yellow – to perfection.
