We’re calling it: Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik have probably broken up. It was very strange to see The Weeknd front row (and next to Yolanda Hadid) at the Victoria’s Secret Show on November 8 in New York. The StarBoy was of course there to support girlfriend Bella Hadid. Malik, however, was noticeably absent from the show and it’s after-party where his girlfriend was celebrating another career highlight.
Hadid, 23, also wasn’t at Malik’s new album party overnight. The singer, 25, is set to release Icarus Falls but while the guests were all bathing in Malik’s new sound, his model girlfriend was posting pictures of her horse. She also posted several Instagram stories wishing Taylor Swift a happy birthday but nothing about Malik’s new music. These aren’t small events to miss. Both the release of an album and walking in the VS show are huge achievements for both parties and one you wouldn’t want your respective other to skip to hang with a pet.
The pair haven’t been seen in public together in a very long time and the last time Hadid posted anything about Malik on her Instagram was on October 21.
The biggest sign pointing to a break-up is the fact Malik doesn’t follow Hadid on Instagram anymore. Another not-so-obvious clue was Hadid’s Instagram story just nine hours ago. It was a Jim Carrey quote that reads “You stop explaining yourself when you realise people only understand from their level of perception.”
The couple released hefty statements in March 2018 about their break-up. Two months later, they were spotted kissing and back together. Perhaps they are broken up but aren’t officially confirming anything this time in case they reunite again. Who knows.
