NEW YORK CITY: The five boroughs are buzzing on this pristine autumn day today as 50,000 competitors from more than 125 nations across the world participate in the 49th annual NYC marathon. (Twenty-five-year-old Kenyan woman Joyciline Jepkosgei has just crossed the finish line in Central Park, winning the women’s race and completing the 42-kilometre race in a crazy two hours, 22 minutes and 38 seconds.) Here’s a glimpse of the atmosphere on 5th avenue.

And another from a rooftop in Williamsburg.

Soaking up every minute of his newfound fame is The Bachelorette alum Tyler Cameron who ran today’s marathon. Between appearances for coconut water at Barry’s Bootcamp and fielding prying questions about what exactly happened during his romantic rendezvous with Gigi Hadid, 26-year-old Cameron has been prepping his body for America’s version of the race that stops the nation.

“I’m already being really irresponsible because I forgot to get my watch charged, I forgot to put on deodorant and I already forgot my bib once and had to go back and get it,” said a flushed Cameron on an Instagram story early this morning.  “I forgot food for my belt so if you see me in the race struggling, and you’ve got food, I’m going to come and eat your food because I’m going to be hungry!”

Cameron recently told US Weekly he “wasn’t worried about dating” after his whirlwind romance with Hadid. The pair were last spotted a month ago at Hadid’s grandmother’s funeral in the Netherlands. “Dating girls is the least of my worries right now,” he said. “I’m so busy and running around.”

As today shows, he is quite literally running. As we push publish, Cameron is still completing the race and is estimated to finish it in four hours and 40 minutes. You can follow his time here by entering his bib number: 10213. He’ll also be hosting a post-marathon party at Public House (140E East 41st Street for anybody visiting New York).
