Further proof the eldest Hadid offspring is probably the busiest jobbing campaign model in the biz right now: first images of Gigi in the new Stuart Weitzman advertising campaign shot by Mario Testino have just been unveiled. The inspiration? Her “real-life workout regimen”, according to WWD.com. Because we all kick-box in three-inch heels, right?
The debate about whether or not metallic mid-calf boots and underpants are appropriate attire for a jogging session is probably a welcome distraction though from ‘outrage’ earlier this week at the 21-year-old casting as a mother of two young children in Versace’s latest campaign. (Our rough gestimate is her very cute older ‘child’ is around five or six years old, which would have either dropped ‘her’ into Teen Mom territory during Middle School if this were a reality – or made her the world’s most glamorous stepmom.)
This isn’t the first time Hadid’s fronted American shoe brand Stuart Weitzman’s advertising, but it is first as a solo act. Last season she starred with Lily Aldridge and Joan Smalls, but this Autumn’s images – which will be used on billboards and in media ads – see her kicking butt (almost literally) on her own two booted feet, no crèche required.
The shoes? They’ll drop in-store and online in August too.
