As part of his ongoing reinvention of the storied Italian house, Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele has bolstered the brand’s artistic credibility with a number of esoteric collaborations. The ongoing #GucciGram project has been an especially fruitful venture across social media and the label’s graffitied Autumn/Winter 2016 accessories, produced with street artist Trouble Andrew (a.k.a. GUCCI GHOST), gave the brand’s historic logo a much-needed 21st century update.

Now, Gucci is set to take its artistic revolution from the runway to your coffee table with news that they’ve collaborated with inimitable New York-based street photographer Ari Marcopoulos on Epiphany, a limited edition tome capturing Michele’s Pre-Fall 2016 mens and womenswear collections in the Dutch photographer’s signature documentary style.

Produced in associated with IDEA Books, Epiphany will launch on later this week on May 5 at Dover Street Market in New York where Marcopoulos himself will be present to sign copies of the book, which is being produced in an initial limited print run of 1000 copies. A second signing at the Gucci Museo in Florence during the Pitti Uomo menswear extravaganza will follow in June.

Epiphany certainly packs a punch as far as art books go, coming as it does in a striking holographic bubble wrap envelope and containing one of 13 photo prints that are sure to add a louche touch to your living room, which is only apt considering Gucci’s romantic new era. Marcopoulos is quoted in the book as saying:

“For seven days we photographed Alessandro’s collection. As the days went on our surroundings made me feel equally in Roman times of the past and solidly in the present and future. Above all we were having a good time which would have pleased Dionysus.”

Epiphany will retail for $83 through select stores in New York, Florence and London until it becomes available online from July at IDEA Books. Feast your eyes on a preview of Epiphany below.
