After New York Fashion Week breathed all new life into the hair accessory trend (Rodarte, need we say more?), the Emmys 2018 has also made a strong case for hair accessories.

Undoubtedly the hair trend of the moment, celebrities sauntered down the red carpet with barrettes, bows, even fresh flowers tucked into romantic chignons and sleek ponytails.

Superbly soft and feminine, the glamorous night recalled old romance as hair took a decidedly whimsical step, adding a touch of fancy to Hollywood hairstyles. Here, our favourite hair accessory moments of the nigh

Evan Rachel Wood’s fresh bouquet
Hair florals seem to be having quite the renaissance, with Westworld star Evan Rachel Wood doing a tad of her own hair watering, with her romantic bun sprouting an array of fresh blooms. From cobalt carnations to baby’s breath – the beautiful bouquet crowned a masterful chignon crafted by TRESemmè stylist, John D – which enveloped the hairstyle from end to end. Soft, ethereal and dreamy; it was a momentous hair moment, to say the least.

Madeline Brewer’s ROSY POSY
The Handmaid’s Tale star also tapped the floral hair trend, adding a delicate posy of ivory roses to her low, sweeping half-up hairstyle.

zazie beetz’s ornamental hair clip
The Best Supporting Actress Nominee complimented her bejewelled Ralph Lauren gown with an equally beautiful, Deco hair clip. Pinned with perfection to one side, it was the ultimate accessory for that gloriously curly up ‘do, marked by snaking braids and liberated curls.

Poppy Delevingne’s Lush Velvet Bows
One of our favourite looks of the night, Delevingne’s pulled-back, polished ponytail was punctuated with two perfectly crafted bows in a lush black velvet. Grown-up princess vibes.

Letitia Wright’s Diamond Dotted Dreadlocks
Wright’s dreadlocked top-knot was all kinds fabulous, made even better by the sporadic yet spectacular placement of sparkly diamonds of all sizes.

Sarah Paulson’s Dragonfly Barrette
Adding a vintage touch to a wholly refined hair look, Paulson’s delicate dragonfly barrette added a retro stamp to her beautifully sophisticated chignon.
