Break-ups are never easy – but they’re even more difficult when you have to perform a sad song to thousands of people right afterwards.
Halsey broke down in tears on stage at a music festival in the US overnight as she sung her emotional track Sorry days after announcing she’d broken up with G-Eazy.
Footage uploaded to Instagram by a festival-goer showed her fighting backs sobs and wiping tears from her eyes as she sang “Someone will love you, but ‘someone’ isn’t me”.
The Him & I singer announced the split from her boyfriend of one year earlier this week, saying in a statement:
“G-Eazy and I are taking some time apart. I’m eager to continue the upcoming passage of time dedicating myself to my art and my career and the duration of my tour. I wish him the best.”
But hours later a shady Instagram post indicated the break-up might not have been amicable.
The 23-year-old shared a photo of herself with her dog, adding the caption “kiss my dog on the forehead and then kiss ur ass goodbye.”
That’s a play on a line from Drake’s song 8 Out Of 10, “kiss my son on the forehead …” which is believed to be about his strained relationship with the mother of his child.
In May, G-Eazy was arrested for assault and drug possession in Sweden. Halsey was with him at the time.
