Set an alarm in your outlook peoples: there’s just a little more than a month until the swift-moving amongst us can get our hands on the much-hyped Kenzo x H&M collection.

Until, now just a few pieces have been revealed in teaser photos. (Not seen ’em? Here’s a shotgun recap: leopard, lots of bright colour and some pretty wild patterns – standard Kenzo, basically.)

To continue the lure, H&M has released the first set of official campaign images shot by creative image maker Jean-Paul Goude and featuring a seemingly mismatched combo of famous faces: two famous rappers, a Hollywood star, a native American environmentalist, an Indie film star, a former supermodel and an Oscar winner.

To say the clothes are eye-catching is an understatement (they’re not for faint-hearted wallflowers) but what we were really mesmerised with recently is the fun behind-the-scenes video also unveiled. As the famous campaign stars are snapped for the campaign by Goude, they answer questions about what colour and clothes really mean to them.

Who are the campaign stars? Rosario Dawson, Chloë Sevigny, Iman and Chance the Rapper will all be well-known to western millennials given their mainstream stardom, but the other three faces have equally fascinating back-stories and practically steal the show in this video.

Long-haired Xiuhtezcatl Martinez is a 16-year-old indigenous American eco hip-hop artist, environmentalist and youth director of Earth Guardians. Suboi (real name Hàng Lâm Trang Anh) is a Vietnamese rapper, singer, and songwriter. Oscar-winning Japanese composer, pianist, dancer and singer Ryuichi Sakamoto who composed the soundtrack for The Revenant and won a Best Original Score Academy Award in 1987 for his work on The Last Emperor. All look great in outlandishly bright clothing, of course.

The collection hits select H&M stores and online on November 3. In the meantime, it’s worth studying this video to earmark any pieces worth setting your alarm for. Meanwhile, here’s what it’s like to be a superstar behind the scenes on an international fashion campaign shoot…
