Somewhere between cotton candy and salmon, there is a perky, sometimes-powdery pink shade that continues to clog up every Insta feed with its various manifestations. That ubiquitous hue; Millennial Pink.

It’s everywhere. From cushions and couches (blame London’s Sketch), to entire restaurants (namely Pietro Nolita in New York) and shops (Lucy Folk’s Playa boutique in Bondi), to handbags, heels and power suits (Oscar de la Renta, Bally and Gucci, of course), to packaging (well-squeezed tubes of Glossier) and even shopping bags (hello, ACNE). It’s the colour us flighty millennials simply cannot get enough of.

Even our choice of wine is decidedly pink in colour, with Rosé filling up every flute and lubricating generations Y to Z the world over. Quite simply, it’s the colour we crave. Like cold-drip. Or smashed avo.

So, it makes perfect sense to take this diluted-down adaptation of Barbie pink in all its glory to beauty. While its inclusive hues are now slightly more vast and varied – some fleshier, others peachier – we’re seeing the strawberry thickshake shade in multifarious ways when it comes to our makeup, skin and hair.

It’s time to colour you beautdrobe (that’s beauty wardrobe for the uninitiated) with the most stylishly saccharine shade of pink.

After all, it’s not quite over until the pink lady sings.
